Country Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s initiatives and strategic direction in Kenya.

• Formulate and execute strategies to enhance the outreach and effectiveness of the Foundation’s offerings in Kenya.

• Cultivate and manage key relationships with county and national government entities, as well as other aligned partners.

• Engage with senior education stakeholders to influence the policy landscape.

• Establish and nurture relevant networks and organizational connections.

• Ensure that programs and partnerships include comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plans.

• Utilize data and feedback to maintain quality and pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Collaborate throughout the Foundation to enhance educational products tailored for Kenyan educators and youth.

• Assemble, lead, and oversee a highly skilled team.

• Guarantee that accessibility, inclusion, and safeguarding commitments are upheld across all programs and partnerships.

• Manage the Kenya budget and provide progress reports to key funders alongside the Chief Growth Officer.

• Contribute to the strategic direction, culture, and values of the organization as a member of the Leadership team.

• Serve as the external representative of the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

• Report directly to the Chief Growth Officer.

• Travel frequently within Kenya and to the UK.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess eligibility to work in Kenya.

• Proven experience leading large-scale educational programs within Kenya.

• Background in developing and managing high-value strategic partnerships with governments, NGOs, and other aligned organizations.

• Established relationships with senior government officials and broader education stakeholders in Kenya.

• Experience in senior management and leadership roles, including building diverse teams and empowering them to excel.

• Ideally, experience in managing remote and geographically dispersed teams.

• Track record of creating impactful learning experiences, products, and programs, particularly focused on young people.

• Strong understanding of measuring learner success, demonstrating program impact, and utilizing data for program enhancement.

• Proven capability to leverage thought leadership, advocacy, and policy influence to effect systemic change.

• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, with experience in integrating this into program design, execution, and evaluation.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with the credibility to represent the Foundation at senior levels externally.

• Genuine dedication to the mission of the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

• Required to undergo a background check and subsequent periodic checks to work with children.
