This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic legal counsel on intricate regulatory issues affecting Marqeta’s card issuing platform.

• Provide guidance on laws and regulations related to prepaid, debit, and credit card products, including EFTA/Regulation E, Durbin/Regulation II, TILA/Regulation Z, and card network standards.

• Ensure the compliance and integrity of Marqeta’s financial offerings.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.

• Assist in the introduction of new products and features.

• Keep track of regulatory changes and developments.

• Work alongside sponsor banks and clients.

• Oversee outside legal counsel as required.

• Lead intricate legal projects to successful completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in law, particularly in fintech, banking, or with a respected law firm.

• Extensive knowledge of the payments landscape.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory.

• Active membership in the State Bar is essential.

• Exceptional communication abilities.
