This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Set rates and retention strategies for both new and ongoing Group Benefits plans while ensuring targeted profitability goals are met.
• Deliver internal account management and proactively address client inquiries related to pricing and modifications in benefits.
• Create quotation submissions, including responses to questionnaires, and tailor value-added replies utilizing Loopio.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new clients by constructing intricate client structures and applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams regarding administrative tasks and plan design specifications.
• Negotiate contracts including financial terms, benefit plan details, and agreements on service and performance standards.
• Enhance operational efficiency to foster long-term financial viability.
• Evaluate and illustrate an understanding of the liabilities tied to various Group Benefits arrangements.
• Work alongside seasoned underwriting professionals and guide junior team members.
• Prior experience in underwriting within the Group Benefits sector.
• In-depth knowledge of the Group Insurance market, its products, and services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with skills in data manipulation and pivot tables.
• Competence in Word.
• Post-secondary education with a strong foundation in business, mathematics, and analytical skills.
• Expertise in professional risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with and support sales teams.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
• CEBS or GBA certification is preferred.
• Strong business insight and the capability to communicate complex financial ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, is preferred.
• Strategic and innovative thinking aimed at creating solutions for distinct customer requirements is preferred.
• Proficiency in negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills is preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines is preferred.
• Sound decision-making skills that balance risk management, financial responsibility, and customer needs are preferred.
