This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.
β’ Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements to support NMI's sales teams in the UK and US, including customer proposals and NDAs.
β’ Offer practical, business-focused legal and commercial contract advice to team members at all organizational levels.
β’ Assist with data protection requests and oversee data compliance issues across the organization.
β’ Negotiate vendor contracts and provide guidance on contracting models, product design, compliance, corporate governance, and other legal matters.
β’ Maintain and enhance template agreements, contract review guides, and various legal resources.
β’ Identify opportunities to streamline legal processes to enhance team efficiency.
β’ Engage in a wide range of commercial and corporate legal matters within NMI, a fintech payment technology firm.
β’ Report directly to the Associate General Counsel.
β’ A minimum of 2 years PQE, either in private practice or in-house.
β’ Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, possessing a current practicing certificate.
β’ Capability to provide practical, business-oriented legal and commercial contract advice directly to colleagues at every level.
β’ Innovative and strategic thinker who can develop and refine processes to enhance efficiencies.
β’ Experience with, or a willingness to work on, corporate and commercial matters in both the UK and the US.
β’ Quick learner, comfortable navigating new and unfamiliar issues.
β’ Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
β’ Works independently and makes decisions confidently.
β’ Experience in-house at a rapidly growing technology company or advising FinTechs at a law firm is preferred.
β’ Strong interest in and understanding of the payment industry sector and SaaS contracting models is preferred.
β’ Experience in the payment industry or account-to-account payment is advantageous (but not mandatory).
β’ Expertise in privacy, including knowledge of GDPR (preferred); CIPP/E or CIPP/M certification is beneficial (but not essential).
β’ Successful background and financial checks are required prior to employment offers.
β’ Legal right to work in the United States, where applicable.
