This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Maintain and enhance legal frameworks and policies that align with corporate strategy.
• Convert intricate legal and regulatory matters into practical guidance for cross-functional teams.
• Provide advice to management and colleagues on corporate governance, risk management, finance, banking, branding, vendor contracts, real estate, intellectual property, information technology, employment, and dealer regulations.
• Offer legal support to marketing, communications, finance, privacy, risk management, and accounting departments.
• Negotiate, analyze, draft, review, and oversee commercial contracts and agreements.
• Assist in negotiations with vendors, landlords, affiliates, and governmental entities.
• Manage processes related to independent contractors.
• Safeguard, maintain, and defend intellectual property.
• Identify legal risks and propose proactive solutions for mitigation.
• Support due diligence efforts for expansion, partnerships, and strategic investments.
• Research legal trends in consumer products and services, data privacy, cybersecurity, and employment law.
• Identify and manage legal and regulatory risks across product areas while providing actionable business guidance.
• Ensure adherence to trade regulations, sanctions, and other limitations.
• Counsel employees and contractors on customer complaints.
• Research and address escalated customer and regulatory complaints.
• Litigate and arbitrate matters when it is economically sensible.
• Retain, manage, and direct outside counsel and third-party consultants for litigation purposes.
• Obtain and maintain state and federal licensing.
• Form new entities, maintain existing entities, and draft operating agreements and resolutions.
• Provide guidance on employment law and human resources matters.
• Support employee benefits programs and investigate policy non-compliance.
• Conduct legal research and analysis and prepare written opinions and guidance for management.
• Assist with leasing and real estate matters.
• Manage additional assigned tasks.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Current admission to a state bar.
• Willingness to obtain licensure in another state if necessary.
• Over five years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Ideally, at least two years of in-house experience.
• Extensive experience with international offices, clients, employees, and entities.
• Preferably prior experience supporting a global organization.
• Pragmatic judgment and strong personal credibility.
• Ability to clearly articulate legal positions or strategies quickly and succinctly.
• Capacity to build consensus within a multinational organization.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to cultivate positive relationships and partnerships across the organization.
• Willingness to undertake administrative, paralegal, and secretarial tasks.
• Capability to analyze complex issues and reach swift resolutions.
• Strong prioritization skills and a sense of urgency; adept at managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to recognize and evaluate business and legal risks, lead strategically, and promote innovative solutions.
• Understanding of the management and protection of confidential and sensitive information.
• Comfort in a multicultural work environment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
