This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide daily legal assistance on labor and employment issues, such as terminations, leave and accommodation matters, discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour inquiries, and workplace investigations.
• Assist in managing employment-related litigation and administrative processes, which include EEOC/state agency charges, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Collaborate with external counsel on employment litigation and proceedings.
• Support commercial litigation cases, encompassing contract disputes, vendor disagreements, and other business-related litigation.
• Aid in internal investigations by collecting facts, interviewing witnesses, and formulating suitable resolutions.
• Draft and review demand letters, litigation holds, position statements, and pertinent correspondence.
• Work alongside HR, compliance, and business stakeholders to proactively identify and reduce legal and litigation risks.
• Manage and coordinate engagements with outside counsel to ensure efficient and cost-effective handling of disputes and litigation.
• Create internal processes, templates, and training materials related to employment compliance and litigation preparedness.
• Assist the Legal Department with other litigation, dispute resolution, or general legal tasks as assigned.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Over 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Proven focus on labor and employment and/or commercial litigation.
• Experience in managing or supporting employment disputes, investigations, and litigation.
• Experience in managing or supporting commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
• Familiarity with administrative proceedings before employment-related agencies, such as the EEOC and state labor/civil rights agencies.
• Strong practical judgment and the ability to navigate efficiently between various legal areas and matter types.
• Capability to manage multiple active matters concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating directly with HR, business stakeholders, and outside counsel.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment regarding escalation processes.
• Collaborative attitude with a hands-on approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with litigation management or e-discovery tools is a plus.
