This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee transactional operations across all areas of Longbridge Financial, encompassing corporate contracts, loan products, HECMs, proprietary home equity loans, compliance, audits, intricate transactional agreements, and partner/vendor contracts.
• Analyze and negotiate transactional agreements, contracts, legal correspondence, and various legal documents.
• Conduct research on state-specific updates and regulatory compliance related to loan products.
• Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts, including NDA, MSA, SOW, DPA, SaaS, and Third Party Originator agreements.
• Assess and negotiate agreements with mortgage brokers, principal authorized agents, and correspondent lenders.
• Oversee the complete contract lifecycle, which includes intake, drafting, negotiation, and systematic recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with business units to standardize templates, playbooks, and negotiation frameworks.
• Support the maintenance of the contract management system/repository and monitor key dates, obligations, and renewal terms.
• Assist with corporate transaction matters as required.
• Provide guidance on compliance requirements for federal and state consumer laws and regulations, including ECOA, FCRA/FACTA, Fair Housing Act, FTC Act, Dodd-Frank Act, UDAAP, Flood Disaster Protection Laws, GLBA, HMDA, Homeowner’s Protection Act, RESPA, TCPA, TILA, FHA/HUD, and GNMA guidelines.
• Advise sales teams on compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
• Work in conjunction with Human Resources on employee offer letters, compensation plans, separation agreements, and employee-related matters.
• Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
• Juris Doctorate degree is required.
• Active bar membership in good standing in any US jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential mortgage banking within a legal/compliance capacity.
• Experience with reverse mortgages or HELOC is advantageous.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of US privacy and data security laws.
• Strong skills in contract drafting, redlining, and negotiation.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, All-regs.com, Lexis-Nexis, Practical Law Connect, and loan operating systems is a plus.
• Good judgment and the ability to analyze information and systems effectively.
