This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +13 more states.
• Assist in meeting the purchasing and sourcing requirements for corporate functional teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp their needs, project scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Prepare and distribute requests for quotations and competitive bidding opportunities.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and provide recommendations for the best overall choice.
• Negotiate pricing, payment conditions, service standards, and other commercial agreements.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier documentation.
• Aid in contract renewals and identify potential improvements in pricing or terms.
• Oversee supplier onboarding, insurance verification, compliance, and necessary documentation.
• Address and resolve issues related to suppliers, purchase orders, invoices, and services.
• Monitor savings, sourcing activities, and supplier performance metrics.
• Ensure accurate procurement records are maintained while adhering to company policies and approval workflows.
• Assist procurement leaders with larger sourcing and supplier management projects.
• Take on additional procurement tasks and responsibilities as business needs shift.
• A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, data analytics, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of two years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or a related business function.
• Significant internship or co-op experience may be considered as part of the required experience.
• Proven expertise in data mining, analysis, and presentation.
• Capability to organize intricate data and communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
• Experience in conducting competitive bids, evaluating supplier proposals, or assisting in negotiations.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
• Competence in managing multiple priorities and collaborating effectively with various corporate functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement or ERP systems.
• Familiarity with the waste-to-energy, utilities, energy, or industrial services sectors.
• Knowledge of the waste management or environmental services industry.
• Experience in procuring professional services, consulting, software, marketing services, environmental services, financial services, or other corporate needs.
• Background in supporting multiple corporate functions within a complex organization.
• Experience with Jaggaer, SAP, Oracle, or similar procurement systems.
