This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Deliver technical assistance to Corporate and mill teams overseeing DCS, QCS, PLC, and drive systems.
β’ Identify, propose, and provide DCS training opportunities for control system engineers and technicians.
β’ Get involved early in capital project development to ensure the correct specification and supportability of control system equipment.
β’ Establish expectations for DCS lifecycle management in relation to capital planning and long-term system reliability.
β’ Assist with corporate control system audits, assessments, and initiatives for improvement.
β’ Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Controls teams to develop and promote best practices for control systems.
β’ Lead or coordinate planning efforts for system updates, upgrades, and enhancements in reliability.
β’ Travel as necessary to support capital projects, reliability initiatives, troubleshooting efforts, and system upgrades.
β’ Create practical and innovative solutions to enhance cybersecurity on legacy control system platforms.
β’ Remain informed on supplier advisories, known issues, knowledge base articles, software updates, and emerging risks.
β’ Ensure DCS initiatives are consistent with risk management, production continuity, and operational resilience.
β’ Act as a resource for best practices and a liaison among mill teams, Corporate Technology specialists, and Corporate IT professionals.
β’ Assist each mill in maintaining, enhancing, and sustaining its DCS systems.
β’ Over 10 years of extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience.
β’ Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) hardware, including Honeywell, ABB Bailey, Emerson DeltaV, or Rockwell.
β’ Experience in control tuning.
β’ Background in instrumentation.
β’ Proficiency in DCS programming of logic.
β’ Experience in project management.
β’ Knowledge of DCS upgrades.
β’ Expertise in process optimization.
β’ Experience in project budget estimations.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and similar software applications.
β’ Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
β’ Capacity to listen to site concerns, share best practices, and adopt a service-oriented approach.
β’ Understanding of instrumentation, DCS technologies, cybersecurity threats, and industry best practices.
β’ Proactive, inquisitive, innovative, and dedicated to staying updated.
