This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Manage the regional event “Education for Violent Past” comprehensively in pre-event, during the event, and post-event phases.
• Coordinate technically, logistically, and administratively with UNESCO, CFCE-AECID, governmental institutions, and other allied organizations.
• Contact, coordinate, and confirm national and international participants.
• Manage travel processes, invitation letters, passports, permits, and arrival and departure itineraries to Guatemala.
• Coordinate venues, catering and transportation arrangements, parallel activities, and visits to memorial sites.
• Create informational materials, identification cards, signage, and participation certificates.
• Assist in designing the welcome package and maintain communication with participants.
• Supervise event activities, address unforeseen issues, ensure adherence to the agenda, and facilitate transportation and meals.
• Receive and accompany participants, including tours and visits to memorial sites.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
• Oversee photographic and audiovisual documentation and coordinate with communication teams.
• Collect audiovisual materials, systematize evaluations, and prepare final documentation and reports.
• Follow up with participants and assist with their departure from the country, addressing any itinerary issues.
• Deliver a work plan, a pre-event follow-up report, and a final report.
• Professional background in cultural management, project management, international cooperation, public relations, communication, education, or related fields.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing events and/or international projects involving 50+ participants.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing agile frameworks (Kanban, Scrum).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working with United Nations system agencies (UNESCO, UN, UNDP).
• At least 5 years of experience in designing and producing communication materials, including audiovisual content.
• Minimum of 4 years working in the international cooperation sector or projects related to education, human rights, memory, and peace.
• Excellent proficiency in office software tools.
• Proficiency in design software (Canva, Adobe).
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Applied creativity and strategic thinking.
• Sensitivity to human rights and memory issues.
• Ability to work in multicultural environments.
• Full-time availability during the week of November 16 to 20, 2026.
• Willingness to work on-site.
• Own vehicle.
• Experience in cultural management in Guatemala.
• Native Spanish speaker.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• 3-month consultancy contract.
