This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
β’ Engage with industrial clients to understand their operational needs and design control system architectures.
β’ Create estimates for comprehensive integration solutions, including engineering, control panel fabrication, desktop HMI, PLC programming, field installation, and commissioning.
β’ Analyze proposal specifications and drawings for estimates related to industrial electrical projects.
β’ Provide estimates for new construction projects and retrofit enhancements.
β’ Recognize opportunities to upgrade aging industrial infrastructure, including migrations from legacy Allen-Bradley PLC-5 systems.
β’ Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to verify take-offs.
β’ Prepare project takeoffs, submittals, and proposals.
β’ Solicit vendor quotes for equipment and materials, particularly for PLC and HMI hardware/software.
β’ Ensure timely completion of client-required documentation.
β’ Draft inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates.
β’ Understand and fulfill customer needs, expectations, and requirements.
β’ Collaborate with employees, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
β’ Maintain documentation supporting estimate figures and supplier pricing.
β’ Assist colleagues in other departments, including estimates in different disciplines.
β’ Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in the industrial electrical sector.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
β’ Strong understanding of various PLC platforms and industrial networks.
β’ Capability to conceptualize and specify complete PLC/HMI hardware and software solutions based on limited customer input.
β’ Experience with automation and controls, PLCs, instrumentation, valves, mechanical control panels, and electrical control panels is advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with NECA rates and structures.
β’ Knowledge of NEC/NFPA-70E standards.
β’ Understanding of material quoting processes, RFQs, and vendor communications.
β’ Ability to address and escalate conflicts in specifications and inaccuracies in drawings.
β’ Experience with estimating/installing electrical raceway, including cable tray, EMT, rigid, IMC, and plastibond.
β’ Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and automation construction drawings, wiring details, installation details, P&IDs, layout drawings, panel drawings, and BOMs.
β’ Ability to interpret complex construction specifications related to electrical, automation, and control mechanical methods and means.
β’ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
β’ Familiarity with Microsoft Teams.
β’ Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT.
β’ Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam.
β’ Advanced/expert experience with Accubid, including databases, projects, custom assemblies, labor rates, difficulty modifiers, and LiveCount.
β’ Fluency in English, with the ability to speak, read, and write proficiently.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, owners, and specialty equipment suppliers.
β’ Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
β’ Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of being an effective team player in a remote work environment.
β’ Journeyman Electrician license is preferred.
