This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
β’ Engage with industrial clients to gather operational needs and design suitable control system architectures.
β’ Create detailed cost estimates for comprehensive integration solutions, encompassing engineering, control panel fabrication, desktop HMI configuration, PLC programming, field installation, and commissioning.
β’ Analyze proposal specifications and drawings to estimate industrial electrical projects.
β’ Provide estimates for new construction projects and retrofit upgrades.
β’ Spot opportunities to update aging industrial infrastructure, including transitions from legacy Allen-Bradley PLC-5 systems.
β’ Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to verify take-offs.
β’ Prepare project takeoffs, submittals, and proposals.
β’ Solicit vendor quotes for equipment and materials, including PLC and HMI hardware/software.
β’ Ensure timely completion of client-required documentation.
β’ Draft estimates detailing scope inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
β’ Recognize and fulfill customer needs, expectations, and requirements.
β’ Collaborate with employees, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
β’ Maintain organized backup files for estimates and supplier pricing records.
β’ Assist personnel in other departments, including those involved in estimating for different disciplines.
β’ Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in the industrial electrical sector.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating.
β’ Journeyman Electrician license is preferred.
β’ Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
β’ Strong understanding of various PLC platforms and industrial networks.
β’ Capability to conceptualize and specify complete PLC/HMI hardware and software solutions based on limited customer input.
β’ Experience in automation and controls, including PLCs, instrumentation, valves, mechanical control panels, and electrical control panels is advantageous.
β’ Knowledge of NECA rates and structures.
β’ Familiarity with NEC/NFPA-70E standards.
β’ Understanding of material quoting, RFQs, and vendor processes.
β’ Ability to resolve or escalate specification conflicts and drawing discrepancies.
β’ Familiarity with estimating and installing electrical raceways, including cable trays, EMT, rigid, IMC, and plastibond.
β’ Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and automation construction drawings, wiring details, installation details, P&IDs, layout drawings, panel drawings, and BOMs.
β’ Ability to comprehend complex construction specifications related to electrical, automation, and control mechanical methods and means.
β’ Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Teams, AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, and advanced/expert Accubid.
β’ Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
β’ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Ability to effectively communicate with customers, contractors, owners, and specialty equipment suppliers to ascertain scopes and necessary materials/equipment.
β’ Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
