This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Manage daily and monthly accounting tasks for designated clients
• Guarantee precise and prompt bookkeeping along with financial reporting
• Assist Assistant Controllers with financial analysis, interpretation, and recommendations
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and reports
• Deliver financial results and performance insights to clients
• Create, maintain, and monitor client budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
• Coordinate sales tax submissions and work with external tax specialists during year-end processes
• Oversee third-party reporting responsibilities to lenders, investors, and regulatory authorities
• Consistently apply accounting standards, internal controls, and operational policies
• Conduct monthly file reviews to ensure accuracy and identify risks and areas for improvement
• Drive optimization and automation of client accounting files
• Assist in onboarding new clients and integrating them into systems and processes
• Offer technical accounting support, troubleshooting, and guidance
• Advocate for the implementation and effective use of new technologies and application features
• Serve as a liaison among the CFOs, bookkeeping team, and Controller group
• Mentor, guide, and provide constructive feedback to junior accounting team members
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of processes, templates, and reporting tools
• Engage in initiatives that promote standardization, efficiency, and client satisfaction
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience in cloud bookkeeping, accounting, or controllership roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation is mandatory
• Experience in managing multiple clients, month-end close processes, and financial reporting obligations
• Strong grasp of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/GAAP), financial controls, and compliance requirements
• Proven analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software and automation tools, such as QuickBooks Online, Dext, and Plooto
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and instruct peers on their efficient use
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
