Controller – Accounting Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist with daily financial accounting tasks, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset management.

• Carefully review, code, and post both incoming and outgoing invoices with a high level of precision.

• Conduct intercompany reconciliations and settlements among group entities.

• Manage payment transactions effectively.

• Actively participate in the preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with German GAAP (HGB), including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Prepare and maintain monthly reports, providing commentary on management accounts (BWA).

• Analyze variances between budget and actual figures and recommend relevant business measures.

• Generate budgets, forecasts, reports, and liquidity summaries for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.

• Contribute to the finance team across various entities, processing around 150,000 transactions annually.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in accounting, covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting—preferably in a multi-entity environment or a role with significant individual responsibility.

• Proven experience in detailed invoice review and coding.

• Strong comprehension of financial statements prepared under German GAAP (HGB), ideally with experience in supporting the preparation of annual financial statements.

• Expertise in controlling, including the ability to derive KPIs, forecasts, and business measures.

• Proficiency in DATEV is essential.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Quick learner with a strong degree of independence and meticulous attention to detail.

• Fluent in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong negotiating capabilities.

• Initial experience with BI tools and the ability to establish reporting structures from scratch is a plus.

• Background in hospitality, real estate, or a multi-entity setup is advantageous.

• Interest in automation and process optimization, including API integrations and automated posting, is a plus.
