Contract Staff Front End Engineer – Web Conference, Screen Sharing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Execute designated UX designs for the Firefox screen, window, and tab sharing functionalities, ensuring they reach release status.

• Develop browser user interfaces that perform reliably within a large, widely utilized codebase: thoroughly tested, accessible, and localizable.

• Collaborate with UX to address unforeseen design scenarios and work alongside QA to validate the outcomes.

• Assist in partner testing with major web conferencing services.

• Contribute your work to mozilla-central through public code reviews on Phabricator.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in creating production user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Proven experience in faithfully implementing approved designs, along with the ability to identify and flag unforeseen design scenarios.

• Capability to quickly become productive in a large, established codebase that you did not create.

• Familiarity with writing automated tests for user interfaces.

• Excellent asynchronous written communication skills, as the team operates across various time zones.

• Comfortable working in a public environment, as Bugzilla and Phabricator are open platforms.
