Contract Recruiter – Data Center, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Identify and recruit talented individuals for field roles via trade job boards, LinkedIn, Zip, Indeed, professional networks, trade schools, industry groups, and referrals.

• Maintain a robust talent pipeline and a warm bench to meet ongoing and surge staffing requirements.

• Conduct high-volume recruitment across multiple job sites at the same time.

• Evaluate candidates for technical compatibility, including knowledge of cabling types, termination and splicing, testing and certification, rack and stack, cable management, and interpreting prints and drawings.

• Assess candidates for foreman and lead roles in terms of crew leadership, job-site safety, scheduling, and client communication.

• Verify candidates' credentials and certifications.

• Organize background checks, drug screenings, site access and badging, and travel readiness.

• Schedule and coordinate interviews for both internal teams and clients.

• Conduct reference checks with former foremen, site supervisors, and project managers.

• Follow up with candidates post-interview and manage next steps or notifications of rejection.

• Maintain connections with previous placements to facilitate redeployment opportunities.

• Participate in or support career fairs at trade schools, union halls, and industry events.

• Input recruitment and hiring activity data daily into the ATS.

• Research and propose tools to enhance high-volume screening and scheduling processes.

• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and client project managers and site leads regarding crew size, skill mix, start dates, locations, and travel requirements.

• Prepare Candidate Bio documents and Candidate Spreadsheets detailing technical skills, certifications, and project experience.

• Arrange client interviews and prepare candidates for job-site expectations, safety protocols, and schedules.

• Confirm onboarding documentation, site access, PPE requirements, and logistics for day one.

• Conduct regular performance check-ins with clients and swiftly address any attendance or performance issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of professional staffing experience concentrated on the recruitment of utility, telecom, data center, or infrastructure field positions.

• Demonstrated experience in high-volume and/or project-based recruiting, including filling multiple positions within tight timelines.

• Familiarity with structured cabling, fiber optics, and data center trades, including technician levels, common certifications, tools, and safety standards.

• Experience in developing and nurturing a skilled trades talent pipeline with a focus on relationship-building.

• Practical recruitment experience in sourcing, phone screening, and interviewing field talent.

• Ability to employ innovative sourcing techniques to connect with talent not actively seeking jobs on traditional platforms.

• Natural talent for quickly establishing rapport with field talent, foremen, and client project managers.

• Comfortable with conducting background checks, drug screenings, and managing pre-employment compliance processes.

• Maintain a high level of discretion and sensitivity when dealing with employee-related matters.

• Excellent listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.

• Initiative, reliability, and readiness to respond to urgent requests as they arise.

• Proficient in Google Suite.

• Experience in utility, telecom, or infrastructure recruitment/staffing is essential.

• Familiarity with Bullhorn ATS is a plus.

• Previous experience as a technician, installer, or in a field operations role is advantageous.
