This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in the contractual management of hydro projects from a back-office contract management viewpoint.
• Safeguard GE Vernova’s contractual and commercial interests through effective contract administration, notices, change management, and risk monitoring.
• Oversee contractual elements from the bid or contract handover stage through to execution, close-out, and warranty phases.
• Analyze contractual rights, obligations, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, milestones, remedies, and commercial positions.
• Compose, review, and customize commercial and contractual communications.
• Engage in negotiations and finalize amendments, change orders, and additional commercial instruments.
• Serve as the contractual expert for project management, site operations, technical teams, controls, sourcing, quality assurance, and other relevant functions.
• Prepare and manage notices, reservations of rights, change requests, amendments, claims support documentation, and contractual submissions.
• Maintain comprehensive contractual records, registers, logs, trackers, dashboards, and provide updates to leadership.
• Identify and assess contractual risks, opportunities, deviations, and critical watchpoints.
• Coordinate substantiation packages, event timelines, and supporting records with project controls, planning, sourcing, finance, legal, and technical teams.
• Monitor occurrences that could lead to cost or schedule impacts.
• Assist in the administration of supplier and subcontractor contracts and their flow-down obligations.
• Advise project teams on contractual matters and elevate issues to leadership when necessary.
• Facilitate compliance, milestone verification, payment documentation, contract closure, final accounts, releases, turnover, and warranty-related issues.
• Report to the regional North America Contract Management Leader.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related technical or commercial discipline, along with a minimum of 5–8 years of proven experience in contract management within complex project environments.
• Proven experience in post-award contract administration, contract interpretation, and management of contractual issues throughout project execution.
• Experience in drafting and managing formal contractual correspondence, notices, amendments, and documentation related to changes.
• Strong grasp of contractual risk allocation, commercial implications, and the linkage between project execution events and contract entitlements.
• Excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions within a matrixed and international organization.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Experience in hydroelectric, pumped storage, power generation, or complex infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with EPC, split-scope, consortium, supply-and-install, or other complex project delivery models is advantageous.
• Knowledge of change management, claims support, commercial risk registers, and contract management procedures is preferred.
• Capacity to effectively collaborate with remote teams and support site execution from a back-office perspective.
• Experience in navigating a complex matrix organization is preferred.
• Opportunities for periodic travel for project meetings, internal workshops, client meetings, supplier discussions, or key project milestones.
