This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
β’ Develop and manage the Kids Short-Term resources pipeline, assisting the manager in project oversight.
β’ Conduct substantive editing to ensure theological integrity, biblical fidelity, and adherence to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
β’ Identify, recruit, onboard, and coordinate external Bible Study writers.
β’ Initiate contracts and process payment requests for writers.
β’ Lead editorial initiatives on assigned projects.
β’ Edit content in accordance with style and branding guidelines.
β’ Ensure content accuracy, instructional soundness, and relevance to the intended audience.
β’ Cultivate and nurture relationships with Lifeway customers and church leaders.
β’ Listen to customer feedback and assist in developing resources that reflect church practices and meet customer needs.
β’ Apply Lifeway's style and grammar standards.
β’ Make decisions regarding copyfitting to guarantee readability and accuracy across both print and digital formats.
β’ Engage in planning meetings, ministry discussions, and cross-team collaborations.
β’ Travel approximately 2β4 times per year, usually overnight, for team gatherings.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Education, Childhood Development, English, Biblical Studies, or a related field (mandatory).
β’ Over 5 years of editorial or content development experience.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in children's ministry.
β’ Proficiency in editing across manuscript reviews, ensuring theological accuracy and instructional design.
β’ Strong editorial judgment that aligns with Scripture and the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
β’ Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with authors, contributors, and cross-functional teams.
β’ Keen attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple overlapping editorial projects.
β’ Skills in content creation, including rewriting and developing curriculum frameworks.
β’ Digital literacy and familiarity with publishing workflows for both print and digital formats.
β’ Active participation in an evangelical Christian church.
β’ Understanding of Southern Baptist church culture and ministry structures.
β’ Willingness to travel to the Middle Tennessee area 2β4 times annually for team gatherings.
β’ Experience in developing Bible study resources or curriculum within a ministry-focused setting (preferred).
β’ Familiarity with publishing software, such as InDesign (preferred).
