This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients within Hanover’s Grants practice.
• Recognize distinct client requirements and convert them into clearly defined grants project requests.
• Scope, design, and organize complex multi-phase projects to align with Hanover’s business model.
• Oversee the execution of grants projects by Grants Consultants and Grants Research Associates.
• Communicate Hanover’s processes and findings effectively to clients.
• Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to both clients and leadership.
• Update clients on the progress of ongoing grants projects.
• Identify potential funders and evaluate their alignment with client needs as required.
• Edit reports for content, structure, and clarity to ensure quality control.
• Collaborate with Client Solutions staff to build long-term relationships and guarantee client satisfaction.
• Offer guidance and constructive feedback to Grants Consultants and Research Associates.
• Mentor and coach junior staff members.
• Report directly to the Senior Managing Director specific to the practice area.
• Strong skills in client management, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of the grantseeking process.
• Experience in grants and project management, ideally within the higher education sector.
• A genuine desire to work closely with clients to ensure their satisfaction and retention.
• Proven track record of making quick and informed decisions under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with grantseeking issues and trends in higher education.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Capability to both accept and provide constructive feedback.
• Robust fact-checking, writing, and editing skills in English.
• Ability to prioritize and manage several short and long-term projects to meet deadlines effectively.
• Experience in writing and researching for a professional or business audience.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced setting with minimal guidance.
• A strong and demonstrable work ethic.
• Proven academic and professional accomplishments.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• A Master’s degree is preferred; however, candidates with relevant experience holding other degrees will also be considered.
• Certification as a Research Administrator and/or Project Management Professional is preferred but not mandatory.
• 3-5 years of experience in providing hands-on proposal support is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience working with public and/or private funding agencies is preferred.
• Prior experience in managing or facilitating sponsored research is preferred.
