This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic technical insights to technology strategies and Multi-Generational Product Plans.
• Conduct technical risk assessments for products and systems utilizing processes such as DFMEA and Product Safety Reviews.
• Oversee key design gate reviews and manage review processes, tools, participants, and subsequent actions.
• Implement effective measures for executing long-term engineering design reviews.
• Lead or take part in Patent Evaluation Boards to safeguard competitive technology and intellectual property.
• Represent the organization at conferences and professional bodies such as IEC and CIGRE.
• Approve technical publications prior to submission.
• Foster relationships with academic institutions and encourage research projects and academic collaborations.
• Provide technical guidance to Engineering and Technology leadership, including customer negotiations, supplier audits, and critical technical rescues.
• Ensure design quality and organize as well as communicate lessons learned.
• Lead or support engineering process improvement initiatives, including Root Cause Analysis.
• Promote lean awareness throughout the technical community.
• Rotate chairperson responsibilities for the Grid Solutions Competency Council.
• Develop and implement structured technical training programs.
• Assist in staff development and succession planning.
• Engage in promotion and hiring interviews for positions up to Principal Engineer level.
• Mentor and coach high-potential engineering talent across various business lines.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering role.
• Ideally, experience in a Principal Engineer position.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to maintain engineering integrity under challenging conditions.
• Competent in interfacing effectively with all organizational levels.
• Lean experience is preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, if required.
