This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary contact for calls from patients, pharmacies, and healthcare providers.
• Oversee advanced and specialized administrative, operational, and customer support tasks.
• Assist the Integrated Clinical Pharmacist with medication reconciliation processes.
• Prepare for activities related to medication therapy management.
• Aid in the management of chronic diseases.
• Familiarize with medication brand and generic names, medical terminology, and pharmaceutical calculations.
• Perform medication adherence outreach, auditing, documentation, and reporting for STAR measures.
• Collaborate with other departments to address member issues and inquiries regarding prior authorization or medication procurement.
• Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on workflow.
• Resolve prescription third-party claim rejections by examining formulary restrictions, plan limitations, drug utilization review overrides, and prior authorizations.
• Initiate and manage patient assistance programs, prior authorizations, formulary exceptions/alternatives, and tier reductions.
• Aid in scheduling disease management appointments, preparing for appointments, and conducting follow-up medication education tasks.
• Assist with scheduling medication therapy management appointments, preparing for appointments, and following up on medication reconciliation/education.
• Process specific medication claim updates as requested by clinical pharmacists or providers.
• Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician Program.
• Active State Pharmacy Technician Certification and License as required by the state of residence.
• PTCB Certification.
• One of the two PTCB certifications: Medication Therapy Management Certification (MTM) or Medication History Certification.
• Ability to obtain the other PTCB certification within 60 days of the start date.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience with prior authorization processes.
• Knowledge of the top 200 medications.
• Experience and/or capability to work with an electronic health record system.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM local time.
• Internet service with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
