This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle for diverse construction projects within the Canadian portfolio.
β’ Aid in the negotiation and issuance of prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
β’ Conduct project contract administration in line with Company policies and procedures.
β’ Track project expenditures through change order and contract adjustment procedures.
β’ Assist in formulating recovery strategies when project timelines or budgets are at risk.
β’ Review and update schedules, cost forecasts, and cash flow necessities biweekly with the Construction Team and monthly with the CIO.
β’ Prepare and process progress draws for general contractors, applications for payment from subcontractors, and invoices from consultants and suppliers.
β’ Collaborate with the Accounting department on accounting coding, progress-draw payments, and recoverable costs.
β’ Coordinate drawing alignment, scheduling, and costs.
β’ Build strong relationships with general contractors, architects, and engineers.
β’ Resolve project-related disputes.
β’ Complete project closeout documentation and follow up on any deficiencies.
β’ Direct the activities of the construction administrative assistant.
β’ Coordinate with building officials and regulatory agencies.
β’ Travel frequently to construction and project sites across Canada to monitor progress, quality, and compliance while performing core administrative tasks remotely.
β’ Carry out general administrative duties and other assigned responsibilities.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is mandatory.
β’ A minimum of five years of direct experience is required.
β’ Experience with companies that have multi-site operations is essential.
β’ Background in Self-Storage is an advantage.
β’ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
β’ Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail are crucial.
β’ Strong time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines are important.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software is required.
β’ In-depth understanding of construction and technological methods is essential.
β’ Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks while analyzing and resolving issues is necessary.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of construction and technology methods and the application of building codes is required.
β’ Capability to work effectively in a remote/home-office setting while managing frequent travel to project sites across Canada is necessary.
β’ A valid driver's license and passport are required.
