This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee construction projects within the United States Antarctic Program.
β’ Manage civil works, renovations, repairs, utility construction, facility construction, and support for scientific construction projects.
β’ Execute construction projects directly in accordance with established plans, specifications, and timelines.
β’ Supervise construction activities and provide project status updates, including issues and incidents, through daily field activity reports.
β’ Organize and coordinate equipment, tools, and materials for self-performed tasks.
β’ Conduct planning and estimating for construction timelines, costs, and procurement needs.
β’ Carry out constructability design reviews.
β’ Oversee change control during the construction phase and manage construction activity budgets.
β’ Identify modifications to design and specifications and document these changes through engineering reviews and requests for information.
β’ Take part in project meetings and teleconferences to track progress, implement procedures, ensure compliance, and enforce safety protocols.
β’ Report on project advancements and revise schedules accordingly.
β’ Assist in resolving resource conflicts, enhancing subcontractor performance, avoiding delays, and minimizing operational disruptions.
β’ Coordinate construction support activities, including material laydown areas, job site trailers, and temporary utilities.
β’ Engage with NSF, military, and other agency representatives.
β’ Coordinate with ASC functional workgroups and project-specific subcontractors.
β’ Uphold a safe workplace program, prioritizing safety above all.
β’ Perform additional duties as required.
β’ A bachelor's degree is required, accompanied by a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience; equivalent work experience may substitute for a degree.
β’ Must be a US Citizen with the capacity to acquire and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
β’ At least 5+ years of experience in construction supervision is essential.
β’ Experience in supervising trades personnel, scheduling projects, and estimating project costs is necessary.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
β’ Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is needed.
β’ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and diagrams is essential.
β’ Deployment to Antarctica is mandatory, lasting approximately 4β6 months each year.
β’ Completion of NSF-required physical and dental examinations for Antarctic deployment is required.
β’ Travel, lodging (dormitory accommodation), and meals are provided during deployment.
