Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage all facets of various construction projects from start to finish.

• Evaluate project updates and progress reports, monitoring safety, quality, cost, and schedule key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Collaborate with internal Senior Leaders and Operations, contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

• Deliver timely, clear, and transparent communications to operations and stakeholders.

• Guide general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors to complete projects in accordance with contract specifications.

• Work with 7-Eleven’s Environmental consultant to guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

• Develop project plans which include project charter, schedule, responsibility matrix, risk management plan, communication management plan, and stakeholder register.

• Conduct site surveys and due diligence, and prepare scopes of work.

• Oversee estimates, budget creation, change orders, invoice assessments, and project closure.

• Lead design reviews for alignment with scope and specifications.

• Manage permitting processes and assist in negotiations with regulatory entities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

• Direct bid management and advise on contractor selection.

• Provide on-site oversight from preconstruction through to final inspections and occupancy.

• Generate site-specific equipment take-offs and orders.

• Report on percentage completion, projected turnover dates, actual costs, and cost forecasts.

• Ensure vendors meet deadlines and quality standards, addressing any performance issues.

• Minimize, document, and supervise the resolution of project deficiencies.

• Foster a culture of safety.

• Transition projects after successful commissioning.

• Actively manage project milestones and rectify overdue dates within 7 days.

• Escalate any impacts on time, cost, or quality within 24 hours.

• Report safety incidents immediately by phone.

• Travel approximately 50–70% nationwide, typically 2–3 weeks per month and 2–3 travel days per week.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in construction and project management.

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Alternatively: High School diploma/GED with relevant experience or 4+ years of U.S. military experience.

• Operational experience in convenience stores, fueling, or quick service restaurants.

• Knowledge of accessibility and life safety regulations and their applications.

• Proficiency in installing and maintaining retail (UST) fueling systems.

• Familiarity with refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

• Additional certifications or education relevant to this position.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Capability to sit, drive a vehicle, reach overhead, kneel/stoop/bend, stand, and walk.

• Complete required Company Trainings within the assigned timeline.

• Achieve annual safety certification.

• Submit timecards weekly, by the end of the day on Sunday.

• Expense reports must be filed by the end of the month.

• Ensure all contracted work aligns with 7-Eleven Contract Policy.

• Delegation of Authority: up to $50K.
