This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
• Deliver technical sales assistance to the Connected Properties Sales Manager and Account Executives throughout the sales journey.
• Facilitate customer discovery sessions to grasp business objectives, technical needs, ongoing challenges, property conditions, operational requirements, growth strategies, and success metrics.
• Interact with property owners, developers, operators, management organizations, technology leaders, construction partners, and other essential stakeholders.
• Convert customer specifications into precise technical recommendations and actionable business outcomes.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, information voids, and implementation factors early in the sales cycle.
• Craft appropriately sized managed connectivity solutions for multi-dwelling and hospitality settings.
• Integrate data services, internet access, bandwidth, IP addressing, network architecture, segmentation, resiliency, and service requirements into the solutions.
• Evaluate needs for cameras, access control, building systems, IoT devices, property management operations, and other connected property technologies.
• Develop high-level designs for wired and wireless networks, taking into account layout, coverage, capacity, device density, roaming, interference, security, redundancy, and future growth.
• Produce technical configurations, bills of materials, assumptions, solution recommendations, and supporting documentation for proposals and sales quotes.
• Organize and participate in remote and on-site property evaluations, technical walkthroughs, and discovery meetings.
• Analyze floor plans, property maps, construction documents, network diagrams, equipment placements, pathways, power availability, and existing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Product, and implementation teams to confirm solution feasibility and determine build or installation requirements.
• Conduct live and remote technical presentations, solution reviews, and product demonstrations.
• Articulate networking, Wi-Fi, data services, and smart property concepts to stakeholders with varying technical expertise.
• Engage in proposal presentations, technical evaluations, customer Q&A sessions, and solution negotiations.
• Coordinate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Customer Care, Project Management, Finance, and other teams.
• Provide technical handoffs to implementation teams and maintain involvement through key implementation milestones.
• Monitor recurring technical, product, or customer issues and escalate significant concerns.
• Train sales associates on Connected Properties solutions, data services, technical discovery, positioning, and new offerings.
• Develop sales enablement materials, technical guides, discovery tools, solution diagrams, reference architectures, and customer-facing presentations.
• Identify additional sales prospects and suggest enhancements to solution standards, technical processes, documentation, and enablement resources.
• Stay updated on Sparklight services, networking and Wi-Fi technologies, connected property trends, hospitality and MDU requirements, and relevant industry advancements.
• A minimum of five years' experience in sales engineering, technical sales, telecommunications, networking, information technology, wireless engineering, or a customer-facing technical role.
• Proficiency in business connectivity, data services, Wi-Fi technology, wireless design methodologies, networking, and implementation.
• Familiarity with internet access, Ethernet, IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, network segmentation, resiliency, cybersecurity, SD-WAN, and fixed or mobile 5G/LTE connectivity.
• Experience in designing or supporting Wi-Fi solutions for multi-building, high-density, hospitality, MDU, campus, or other intricate property environments is preferred.
• Capacity to evaluate coverage, capacity, device density, roaming, interference, performance, and physical infrastructure considerations at a practical solution design level.
• Experience with floor plans, property maps, basic network diagrams, technical documentation, and site assessment information.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to obtain relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, CWNA, Meraki certifications, or similar credentials.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Skill in creating technical documentation, solution diagrams, bills of materials, training materials, and customer-facing presentations.
• Strong presentation, communication, and public speaking abilities, including technical demonstrations and training.
• Capability to explain technical concepts to customers and associates with varying levels of technical experience.
• Ability to assess customer needs, troubleshoot technical issues, manage ambiguity, and recommend practical, appropriately sized solutions.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple sales support requests, priorities, and deadlines.
• Creative thinking and adaptability in a dynamic sales and customer service environment.
