This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of comprehensive compliance advisory for the Affirm Card program, encompassing card marketing, checkout, onboarding, wallets, disputes, and servicing.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Utilize judgment under EFTA (Reg E), TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act, and UDAAP to address novel regulatory inquiries.
• Review and authorize card marketing, disclosures, and user experience for adherence to regulatory compliance and consumer protection standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for Card compliance challenges.
• Partner with Compliance Testing, Legal, and Risk during regulatory examinations and bank partner audits.
• Maintain the compliance risk assessment and control inventory for the Card program.
• Create and update Card-specific compliance training and reference materials.
• Act as the compliance authority on new and evolving Card features, identifying risks early in the product lifecycle.
• Over 8 years of experience in a compliance advisory position within financial services, with a Bachelor's degree; or 6+ years with a Master's degree; or 3+ years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in card or payments compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of EFTA (Reg E) and TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act as they relate to card products.
• Familiarity with TISA (Reg DD) and UDAAP.
• Experience with card network regulations such as Visa and Mastercard is advantageous.
• Proven ability to work independently in ambiguous and fast-paced settings.
• Background in collaborating with Product from the initial stages of product, feature, or servicing program development.
• Experience managing issues from root cause analysis to sustainable remediation.
• Experience providing guidance to Product, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders regarding card, lending, or payments programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to convey complex regulatory matters to non-compliance audiences, senior leadership, and leadership committees.
• Compliance certifications are advantageous.
