This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the dbt Slack community.

• Collaborate with community leaders and internal stakeholders to enhance channel strategy, community guidelines, and engagement initiatives.

• Create and uphold moderation and support workflows, including the enforcement of the Code of Conduct.

• Mentor, support, recruit, and onboard moderators and community champions.

• Generate announcements, highlights, prompts, and community storytelling content.

• Gather community insights and member feedback to share with Product, Marketing, and Support, while ensuring feedback is relayed back to the community.

• Track and report on engagement and health metrics, and conduct improvement experiments.

• Manage the digital engagement tool stack, which includes Slack workflows, analytics, knowledge base, integrations, and web portal.

• Organize and oversee incident response alongside Legal, People, and Security as necessary.

• Facilitate digital engagement across community forums, social media, and events.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital community management, online engagement, or community program management in a global or distributed setting.

• Proven experience managing daily operations for a large online community, such as Slack, Discord, or a forum.

• Proficient in moderation, member support, and community health practices.

• In-depth understanding of online community dynamics and the ability to foster trust, belonging, and shared purpose on a large scale.

• Experience in developing and enhancing moderation and support workflows, including the enforcement of a Code of Conduct.

• Exceptional written communication and facilitation abilities.

• Familiarity with community tools and analytics, such as Slack workflows, Common Room, or similar platforms.

• Data-driven decision-making skills, including the ability to define engagement and health KPIs, assess impact, and report results.

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Support, and Developer Experience teams.

• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to communication nuances across different regions and time zones.

• High emotional intelligence and capability to navigate conflict, ambiguity, and sensitive issues.

• Strong ability to prioritize tasks across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
