Community Engagement Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Act as QTS’s primary local representative and cultivate trustworthy relationships with residents, businesses, government officials, civil organizations, faith-based groups, and advocacy organizations.

• Establish a QTS presence in the community and serve as the initial point of contact for project updates, inquiries, and concerns.

• Organize opportunities to communicate project updates and gather community feedback.

• Oversee Community Complaint Management, ensuring fair, transparent, and timely handling and escalation of issues.

• Participate in public meetings, events, hearings, and town halls to engage stakeholders and disseminate QTS updates.

• Collaborate with the Community Impact Team to evaluate community development priorities and identify partnership and volunteer opportunities.

• Assist the Economic Development and Government Relations teams with regulatory, permitting, and policy landscapes.

• Work with Communications & Brand teams to ensure consistent messaging, articulate the QTS Story, and engage with local media.

• Update and utilize the Community Assessment tool to guide engagement strategy and planning.

• Provide internal teams with insights regarding community sentiment, stakeholders, priorities, and risks.

• Maintain an updated key stakeholder map.

• Direct the annual stakeholder engagement strategy, planning, and resource requests.

• Track and report on community engagement activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, government relations, or a similar field.

• A Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, Business, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven experience working directly with communities, especially in sectors related to land use, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects.

• Established ability to collaborate across functions in a high-volume, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

• Experience in crisis management and addressing public opposition to development initiatives.

• Proven action-oriented leadership capabilities.

• Outstanding communication and public speaking abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse stakeholders respectfully and with a focus on solutions.

• A Master’s degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, Business, or related professional experience is preferred.

• Experience in real estate development, energy, mining, or hyperscale projects is advantageous.

• Capability to navigate local government procedures, permitting, and regulatory frameworks while ensuring transparency and accountability.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances in a high-growth company.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and produce high-quality work within tight deadlines.
