Community Engagement and Health Promotion Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Lead and enhance community engagement and health promotion strategies within the designated operational portfolio.

• Facilitate the incorporation of people-centred and participatory approaches into humanitarian programs.

• Ensure that the perspectives of patients and the community guide operational decision-making, program quality, safety, dignity, and effectiveness.

• Provide technical guidance and support to projects and missions in the creation and execution of community engagement and health promotion strategies.

• Analyze the needs and feedback of patients and the community, including vulnerable groups, to enhance program relevance and quality.

• Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community engagement and health promotion initiatives.

• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among operational, medical, humanitarian affairs, logistics, and HR stakeholders.

• Develop and enhance knowledge management systems, qualitative analysis processes, and capitalization initiatives.

• Offer technical support during assessments and operational reviews.

• Design and provide training, mentoring, and technical support for community engagement staff and multidisciplinary teams.

• Represent MSF in external networks, partnerships, and technical forums.

• Create contextualized tools, guidance, and materials for community engagement and health promotion.

• Act as a focal point for incorporating patient and community feedback into operational learning and program adaptation.

• Travel frequently to field projects and missions for technical support and guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in Social or Health Sciences or a related discipline.

• At least 4 years of field experience in humanitarian settings, with substantial responsibilities in community engagement and health promotion.

• Proven experience in community engagement and participatory methods in humanitarian contexts.

• Experience in supporting, mentoring, and training multidisciplinary teams, including management in the field.

• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

• Fluency in both English and French is essential.

• Previous experience with MSF or other international NGOs, especially in conflict zones, will be regarded as a significant advantage.

• Experience as an HQ Advisor will be considered beneficial.

• Additional qualifications in public/community health, anthropology, community engagement, social research, or humanitarian action will be advantageous.

• Knowledge of logframe/Theory of Change and qualitative data analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA, or ATLAS.ti) will be considered beneficial.

• Proficiency in Arabic, Spanish, and/or Portuguese will be regarded as an asset.
