Commercial Supply Chain and Procurement Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, lead, and expand a high-performing team focused on equipment sourcing for SCADA and metering procurement.

• Recruit, mentor, and facilitate professional growth while planning resources as the team evolves.

• Oversee equipment financials, encompassing forecasting, revenue, COGS, and margin objectives.

• Formulate and implement sourcing strategies for equipment that emphasize supplier diversification, capacity, capability, and supply chain risk management.

• Manage supplier relationships, including agreements, terms and conditions, performance metrics, payment terms, and negotiations for bulk pricing.

• Enhance and refine sourcing procedures across quoting, requirements flow-down, supplier selection, inventory planning, purchase order management, fulfillment, end-of-life management, and change orders.

• Collaborate with engineering to convert technical specifications and bills of materials into sourcing requirements.

• Integrate supply chain cybersecurity and regulatory considerations into the supplier selection process.

• Work alongside the Enterprise Supply Chain on onboarding, strategic pricing, logistics, receiving, inventory, ERP enablement, corrective actions, and analytics/KPIs.

• Ensure the consistent application of Supply Chain best practices and compliance with the Supplier Management program.

• Maintain market intelligence regarding SCADA/metering pricing, lead times, supply chain risks, and contractual terms.

• Collaborate with proposal and sales teams on pricing, contracts, client feedback, and project execution.

• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks related to equipment delivery across ongoing projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 10 years of procurement and contract negotiation experience in the energy sector, covering power delivery, process automation, protection & control, and/or renewable energy infrastructure.

• Previous experience in people leadership, with a history of building and nurturing high-performing teams.

• Proven commercial insight and understanding of equipment and service supply contracts for major infrastructure projects.

• Demonstrated capability to assess and mitigate risks related to pricing, scheduling, and quality.

• Experience in managing relationships with external suppliers, vendors, clients, and project stakeholders.

• Exceptional cross-functional communication and presentation abilities.

• Capacity to address procurement challenges that impact project schedules and budgets with urgency.

• Ability to juggle competing priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

• Willingness to travel as necessary to engage with suppliers, vendors, and project stakeholders.

• Must have the legal right to work in Canada.

• Hold a valid Canadian Driver’s License and comply with company driving standards.

• Capability to travel across the United States and Canada.

• Openness to innovation and the ability to leverage emerging technologies and AI tools.

• Experience with EPC contracting is preferred.

• Direct experience in procuring SCADA, metering, or related automation and protection & control equipment is preferred.

• Familiarity with NERC CIP or other utility-related cybersecurity and regulatory requirements is preferred.

• Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalent is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement systems is preferred.
