This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Prepare and evaluate monthly management accounts.
• Analyze Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and cash flow data.
• Conduct variance analysis and identify trends, anomalies, data gaps, and issues needing investigation.
• Review accounting files, suggesting improvements, cleanup, and reporting corrections.
• Create driver-based annual budgets, rolling forecasts, reforecasts, and cash-flow forecasts.
• Analyze cash-flow pressures and pinpoint opportunities for working-capital improvements.
• Develop financial scenarios and articulate budget and forecast assumptions along with business drivers.
• Engage in commercial modeling and assess job, project, product, customer, and service-line profitability.
• Evaluate margins, labor costs, productivity, pricing, capacity, and working capital.
• Create models that support commercial decisions and translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
• Design and maintain management reports and dashboards utilizing platforms like Fathom, Syft Analytics, or Translucent.io.
• Identify relevant KPIs and produce written commentary for the CFO.
• Detect issues, opportunities, and suggested actions from financial results.
• Investigate commercial challenges, formulate recommendations, seek reviews, communicate findings, and document processes.
• Delegate preparation and investigative tasks, review delegated work, and enhance junior team capabilities.
• Assist bookkeeping staff and clients in understanding the commercial objectives of finance work.
• Take part in client meetings, progressively present analyses, recommend actions, facilitate discussions, and independently lead management and CFO meetings.
• Utilize AI for research, analysis, documentation, and workflow enhancements.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop reusable prompts, templates, and workflows.
• Contribute to AI-assisted CFO methodologies, training materials, and standardized CFO processes.
• Recognize Australian tax implications, integrate tax considerations into commercial recommendations, and escalate issues needing specialist advice.
• Collaborate effectively with bookkeeping teams, external accountants, tax advisors, and the CFO team.
• Candidate must be based in the Philippines.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, management accounting, or commercial finance.
• Hands-on experience with Australian accounting, taxation, and SME environments.
• Strong expertise in management accounting, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow analysis.
• In-depth understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow, profitability, margins, and working capital.
• Ability to scrutinize financial information, identify accounting and data-quality issues, and enhance management reporting.
• Proficient in Excel and financial modeling.
• Significant experience with accounting software, preferably Xero.
• Practical knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG withholding, payroll, and superannuation.
• Solid commercial judgment and the capacity to recognize tax implications and escalate matters as necessary.
• Ability to work collaboratively with external accountants and advisors.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-accountants.
• Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, ownership, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to work independently, meet deadlines, collaborate remotely, and delegate effectively.
• Availability to align with Australian business hours, approximately 9 AM–5 PM Monday to Friday.
• Disclosure of any current ongoing roles or client work is required.

• Nice-to-have: 3+ years of experience supporting Australian SMEs.
• Nice-to-have: CPA, CA, or an equivalent qualification.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Fathom, Syft Analytics, Translucent.io, or QuickBooks Online.
• Nice-to-have: Advanced proficiency in Xero.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in 13-week cash-flow forecasting, profitability, pricing, margin, or capacity modeling.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in dashboard, KPI, and CFO/Board reporting.
• Nice-to-have: Client management-meeting experience.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in training or mentoring junior finance staff.
• Nice-to-have: Practical AI experience using ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Microsoft automation.
• Nice-to-have: Background in process documentation, standardization, or productization.
