This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Commercial Lines Field Sales Representatives.
• Set clear expectations for activities, performance, and outcomes.
• Perform ride-alongs, conduct call reviews, and inspect territories.
• Recruit, onboard, and nurture sales talent.
• Implement territory sales plans to achieve or surpass new business premium, total written premium, retention, and loss ratio goals.
• Supervise agency segmentation and resource distribution.
• Direct agency portfolio expansion, rehabilitation, and exit strategies.
• Convert corporate distribution strategies into actionable field initiatives.
• Ensure consistent messaging and value propositions throughout agency interactions.
• Take ownership of regional sales outcomes through effective representative performance management.
• Track growth, submission flow, pipeline quality, hit ratios, retention, and profitability KPIs.
• Identify performance challenges and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain key agency partnerships and LAPP accounts.
• Cultivate executive-level relationships with priority agents.
• Oversee agency engagement strategies and manage allocated agent compensation expenses.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product, operations, claims, service, FAD, EIU, Specialty, and Small Commercial teams.
• Provide market insights regarding pricing, coverage gaps, agency sentiments, and competitor activities.
• Identify emerging regional risks and opportunities.
• Complete or assist with regional-level reporting.
• Adhere to corporate policies and procedures while performing other assigned tasks.
• Over 7 years of progressively responsible roles in P&C insurance, including leadership experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience is required.
• Significant insurance education, such as INS, AU, or CPCU, or a strong commitment to pursuing insurance education is highly recommended.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop Commercial Lines Field Sales Representatives.
• Experience in managing agency relationships and territory performance.
• Capability to drive new business premium, total written premium, retention, and loss ratio targets.
• Familiarity with sales KPIs including growth against plans, submission flow, pipeline quality, hit ratio/close rate, retention results, and regional/state profitability.
• Ability to collaborate with underwriting, claims, product, operations, specialty, and segment teams.
• Proficient in providing market intelligence, competitive analysis, and regional performance evaluations.
• This is a full-time salaried position that is exempt from overtime eligibility.
