This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of both contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution systems.
• Offer technical assistance to customers regarding operational and maintenance-related inquiries.
• Execute battery installations and replacements as needed.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on contracted equipment.
• Serve as a point of contact and interface for customers.
• Communicate equipment availability status to the corporate office.
• Utilize electronic and electrical testing tools as required.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors engaged by PSS.
• Keep the company vehicle in a safe and operational condition.
• Ensure compliance with PSS standards in all work performed.
• Accurately complete Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other necessary documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Participate in mandatory company training sessions.
• Cross-train in additional areas as necessary.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Travel daily and operate independently at customer locations.
• A Level II Technician should possess three years of field experience in servicing generator systems.
• Some background in servicing 500kW+ generator systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in preventative maintenance practices.
• Experience in retrofitting basic control systems.
• Familiarity with minor ATS repairs and load banking equipment.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent; related military experience or equivalent field experience is acceptable.
• Capability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and replacement of failed engine components.
• A sound understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems; ability to troubleshoot and repair with minimal oversight.
• Competence in reading electronic schematics and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems to the component level with guidance.
• Experience with or the ability to quickly master Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC controls.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
• Competence in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and standards.
• Proficient in computer applications, including ERP systems, email, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven reasoning capabilities and sound judgment.
• Process-oriented with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver results within specified timelines.
• A collaborative and teamwork-oriented approach to work.
• Willingness and capability to participate in required company training sessions.
• Must own and maintain a personal set of mechanical tools.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull weights ranging from 20–75 pounds.
• Capability to climb ladders and perform tasks involving stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Must be able to wear mandatory PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate footwear.
• Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck for up to 10 consecutive hours.
• Willingness to work extended and unpredictable hours.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and MVR clearance.
• Willingness to travel out of market/state up to 25% of the time.
