Commercial Construction Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee all daily construction activities on-site in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

• Coordinate with subcontractors and trade partners, including onboarding, daily scheduling, and performance supervision.

• Conduct safety orientations and implement safety protocols.

• Inspect installations and ensure quality control.

• Develop and maintain the three-week look-ahead schedule.

• Manage the overall construction timeline and coordinate deliveries, inspections, and project milestones.

• Execute punch list items, conduct final inspections, and facilitate project closeout.

• Ensure all documentation, certifications, and turnover items are finalized before handoff.

• Report directly to the General Superintendent and maintain communication with the assigned Project Manager.

• Record daily progress and document site conditions, Requests for Information (RFIs), and issues impacting schedule or costs.

• Represent Modern Construction Services in interactions with clients, architects, and inspectors.

• Remain on-site for the duration of each assignment, with extended stays in project areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction.

• Proven history of managing commercial projects autonomously from inception to completion.

• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and subcontractor management.

• Proficient in Procore/InGenious and Microsoft Project.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.

• Willingness and ability to travel, including extended stays at project locations.

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is advantageous; equivalent field experience is equally valued.

• Familiarity with Avetta, Bolt, or Fexa is a plus.

• Experience managing commercial projects across various markets and regions is a plus.
