This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Provide guidance to students and families throughout the college admissions journey.
• Deliver a boutique, tailored, and personalized experience for clients.
• Assist students in articulating their personal narratives and highlighting their distinctive qualities.
• Develop comprehensive application playbooks that encompass every stage of the process.
• Formulate strategies focused on admissions objectives and compelling applications.
• Evaluate curriculums, internship opportunities, extracurricular activities, and strategies for ED, REA, EA, and RD applications.
• Create tailored plans addressing course selection, academic interests, extracurricular activities, and summer programs.
• Conduct continuous research on school profiles, course catalogs, and academic offerings.
• Mentor students and guide families through the entire admissions process.
• Foster essential life skills, self-esteem, and confidence in students through positive reinforcement.
• Collaborate with a college admissions team dedicated to transforming education.
• At least five years of experience as an admissions officer/reader at a selective college, along with relevant experience as a high school counselor, independent counselor, or college counseling professional.
• In-depth knowledge of high school curricula, AP, IB, ACT, SAT, and other standardized assessments.
• Experience working with students in grades 7–12, including transfer applications and private/boarding school candidates.
• Demonstrated success in supporting students across diverse academic programs, including pre-med and engineering tracks.
• Proven strategies for differentiating student applications and creating robust portfolios.
• Experience in athletic recruitment and other specialized initiatives.
• Exceptional writing skills and a solid understanding of the current admissions landscape.
• Expertise in public, private, charter, and boarding school settings.
• Proficient knowledge of Naviance, Scoir, and other college admissions software.
• Familiarity with Common App, Coalition App, Apply Texas, and institution-specific applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of the college admissions process, school types, resources, and environments.
• Proven success in placing students in selective colleges, prestigious high school internships, and extracurricular activities.
• Extensive knowledge of financial aid, scholarships, and other funding options.
• Understanding of the academic and social pressures faced by high school students and the competitive nature of college admissions.
• Awareness of programs and competitions such as DECA, Science/Math Olympiads, AMC math competitions, Science Fairs, and STEM contests.
• Strong skills in communication, organization, and writing.
• Technologically proficient.
