This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze medical record documentation to extract key information for thorough diagnosis and procedure coding.

• Assign evaluation and management codes with the appropriate CPT code and diagnoses using the correct ICD-9 code.

• Collaborate with physicians to review documentation, address coding issues, and obtain signatures for any unsigned dates of service.

• Mark files for necessary follow-up actions.

• Serve as the lead individual, providing support to coders and IBC staff regarding medical terminology and policy interpretation.

• Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing physician understanding of documentation requirements.

• Prepare case reports and initiate follow-up processes for billing.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P); AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or any AAPC specialty-specific coding credentials).

• Prior coding experience or an equivalent of an associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.

• Proficient in Computer Systems.

• Understanding of ICD-10 Procedure Coding System.

• Knowledge of Medical Billing and Coding.

• Competence in Medical Terminology.

• A diploma, certification, or degree is not mandatory.

• No specific prior work experience is necessary.

• A driver’s license is not a requirement.
