πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ The CoC (Chain of Custody) Regional Manager for Affiliates in Western Europe and the Americas is accountable for quality assurance during audits, providing technical support to designated affiliates, and executing various tasks necessary for maintaining accreditations.

β€’ Contributing to the growth of the CBE timber and paper certification business, primarily focusing on FSC/PEFC COC certification and timber due diligence services, within the regions of the assigned affiliates (Western Europe and the Americas).

β€’ Consistently ensure effective communication and collaboration with the Global Forestry Team to assess potential business development opportunities.

β€’ Assist the Global Technical Manager in updating the COC procedures and relevant documentation.

β€’ Ensure that COC accreditation standards are integrated into SGS procedures and effectively communicated to affiliates and auditors.

β€’ Provide timely technical support and information to assigned SGS affiliates.

β€’ Oversee the technical review of COC reports to guarantee compliance with accreditation standards and certification decision-making processes.

β€’ Conduct technical reviews of COC reports as necessary.

β€’ Carry out Technical Internal Office Audits (L2) in accordance with the global audit plan.

β€’ Ensure the proper maintenance of the FSC Database.

β€’ Manage quality and monitor the performance of SGS delivering affiliates (KPI management).

β€’ Facilitate the FSC Trademark approval service with qualified trademark officers.

β€’ Ensure all requisite records are maintained in compliance with accreditation standards.

β€’ Participate in accreditation body audits and follow up on accreditation body CARs as directed by the Accreditation Manager(s).

β€’ Address complaints and appeals as instructed by the Accreditation Manager(s).

β€’ Establish and maintain formal initial and update training sessions for COC auditors (Training tools, Academy) in partnership with the Training Manager.

β€’ Support the Global Training Manager in delivering necessary training for FSC and PEFC COC (initial auditor training, update trainings).

β€’ Act as a Tutor for COC Lead Auditor Trainings.

β€’ Ensure the certification competences in collaboration with the Accreditation Manager(s).

β€’ Provide consultation to Affiliates on the hiring, training, and registration of new auditors.

β€’ Prepare the New Auditor Application Packages for signature by the Accreditation Manager.

β€’ Conduct L1 audits of COC auditors as required.

β€’ Comply with all quality and safety standards of the SGS management system.

β€’ Deliver training courses as assigned by the direct line manager.

β€’ Execute FSC audits as required.

β€’ Perform any other reasonable tasks as directed by the direct line manager.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Tertiary education in Forest Management or Timber Engineering or secondary education complemented by equivalent professional training and experience.

β€’ Must possess FSC COC Lead Auditor certification.

β€’ Relevant work experience in the timber and/or paper industries.

β€’ Experience in auditing and commercial aspects related to products, including commercial proposals.

β€’ Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive and facilitate change.

β€’ Analytical, decisive, adaptable, ethical, problem-solving, persuasive, and commercially aware.

β€’ A focus on customer service and commercial objectives.

β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with developed presentation skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior government officials and management.

β€’ Ability to work collaboratively in a team and operate independently without close supervision.

β€’ Proficient in computer use.

β€’ Proficiency in English, in addition to local language skills, is an advantage.
