This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Travel to client locations to install, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.
• Utilize online technical documentation, manuals, and vendor resources to troubleshoot machine issues.
• Accurately complete and submit documentation to both the office and clients regarding machine problems, repairs, and installations.
• Advocate for and conduct preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment.
• Provide after-sales technical support and training.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the machine tool industry and the product lines represented by the company.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Report directly to the Service Manager.
• Commute daily from home to customer locations.
• Proven experience in mechanical/electrical repair or engineering is preferred.
• Background in CNC repair is advantageous.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics is essential.
• Familiarity with software applications, such as Microsoft Office, is a plus.
• Competence in using a laptop, smartphone, and various software tools.
• Exceptional technical, communication, and presentation skills are mandatory.
• Must be able to regularly lift 40–50 pounds.
• Flexibility in hours and a willingness to travel frequently within a designated regional territory.
• Must be highly mobile and capable of accessing all areas of the premises.
• Ability to maintain focus and prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects.
• Capacity to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, and lift moderate-to-heavyweight materials up to 50 lbs., with assistance when necessary.
• Frequent use of hands and arms is required.
• Vision abilities must include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work professionally and responsibly in dynamic job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for prolonged periods.
• Capability to work in confined spaces or awkward positions, including inside equipment and elevated areas.
• Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills for accurate electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic tasks.
• Ability to work in industrial settings with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions.
• Must consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
