This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Travel to client locations for the installation, repair, maintenance, and servicing of machine tool equipment and controls.
• Utilize online technical documentation, manuals, and vendor resources to investigate machine-related issues.
• Precisely document and report the status of machine issues, repairs, and installations to both the office and the customer.
• Advocate for and carry out preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment.
• Provide after-sales technical support and training to customers.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the machine tool industry and the product lines represented by the company.
• Execute related responsibilities as needed.
• Report directly to the Service Manager.
• Start each day from home and travel to customer sites within a designated regional territory.
• Proven skills in mechanical or electrical repair or engineering are preferred.
• A background in CNC repair is advantageous.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and schematics is essential.
• Familiarity with software applications, such as Microsoft Office, is beneficial.
• Capability to operate a laptop, smartphone, and various software programs.
• Strong technical, communication, and presentation abilities are necessary.
• Must be able to regularly lift weights between 40–50 pounds.
• Must meet physical demands, including bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel frequently throughout a regional area.
• Must possess high mobility and be able to access all areas of the premises.
• Comfort working in confined spaces or awkward positions, including inside equipment and at elevated heights.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic tasks.
• Ability to work in industrial settings with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Demonstrate responsible and professional behavior in dynamic job sites.
• Capability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended durations.
