Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Kubernetes, KubeVirt

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan.

📋 Description

• Design and implement enterprise-level Kubernetes platforms across hybrid environments on AWS and Azure.

• Create, manage, and operate Kubernetes infrastructures for both containerized and virtualized workloads.

• Utilize KubeVirt for consolidated management of virtual machines and containers.

• Develop and sustain production observability platforms to enhance mean time to recovery (MTTR) and system reliability.

• Set and uphold DevSecOps standards, including security for registries, image scanning, container security, access management, RBAC, and compliance benchmarks.

• Automate the provisioning of infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

• Execute and manage GitOps deployment workflows based on Argo CD.

• Spearhead cloud modernization efforts and transition legacy systems to cloud-native architectures.

• Define and oversee cloud governance, security policies, and compliance frameworks.

• Provide technical guidance through mentoring, design reviews, and collaboration across functions.

• Implement configurations for multi-network pods using Multus CNI.

• Manage CI/CD pipelines based on GitOps principles using Argo CD and Helm.

• Create reusable reference architectures and automation frameworks.

• Design and manage Kubernetes networking for both bare-metal and hybrid clusters, including load balancing with MetalLB.

• Diagnose complex Kubernetes networking issues related to CNI plugins, secondary interfaces, IP address management (IPAM), and traffic routing.

• Integrate networking configurations with KubeVirt workloads that necessitate multiple network attachments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related area.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Engineer, or a related position.

• Proficiency in designing and managing production-level Kubernetes clusters for enterprise workloads.

• Experience with AWS or Azure production infrastructures, including the design of hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.

• Implementation of CI/CD pipelines utilizing Argo CD and JFrog Artifactory.

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Ansible for extensive environment automation.

• Linux system administration experience in production settings.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including Harbor registry security, access management, and compliance alignment.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms for production systems.

• Experience with KubeVirt, Multus CNI, MetalLB, Helm, GitOps, RBAC, container security, image scanning, IPAM, and traffic routing.
