This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Design and create well-structured, secure cloud environments and platforms for Allstate.
• Automate public cloud services by establishing continuous integration and delivery pipelines for infrastructure and application teams.
• Collaborate with cloud-platform consumers to ensure applications comply with standards and gather insights for platform enhancement.
• Develop and maintain Python applications that streamline the provisioning and management of cloud environments.
• Construct cloud environments and platforms that align with both business objectives and security strategies.
• Create standards, designs, and automated software deployment processes within cloud environments.
• Design cloud patterns and reusable infrastructure modules for AWS and Azure.
• Resolve complex issues related to cloud provisioning, security, and deployment.
• Assist application teams in adopting best practices in cloud engineering.
• Lead technical projects and mentor engineers in cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• Operate primarily in an Extreme Programming environment, engaging in paired programming/engineering.
• Contribute to the strategy and design of continuous integration and continuous delivery frameworks and tools.
• Define and develop user-centric products and services that offer functions-as-a-service.
• Expertise in Python development, focusing on designing, building, testing, and maintaining production-grade cloud automation systems.
• Extensive experience in constructing cloud infrastructure solutions within AWS and/or Azure.
• Profound understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Practical experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or comparable platforms.
• Proficiency in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines that provision, configure, and oversee cloud infrastructure.
• Strong grasp of cloud networking, identity and access management, security controls, compute, storage, and platform architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues across application, infrastructure, and cloud domains.
• Experience in developing reusable automation frameworks, APIs, libraries, and tools such as boto3 and the Azure SDK.
• Capability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, and promote the adoption of cloud engineering best practices.
• 4+ years of experience in application development and infrastructure engineering.
• Willingness and capability to implement necessary changes in infrastructure and processes.
• Ability to collaborate in diverse teams, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Capacity to work efficiently across organizational and geographical boundaries.
• Skill in identifying creative solutions to technical challenges.
• Proficiency in communicating and presenting ideas and solutions effectively.
• Willingness to engage in an Extreme Programming environment and paired programming/engineering model.
• Background investigation required.
• Must have a dedicated, private workspace that is free from distractions while working from home.
• Reliable internet connection is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
• Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position.
