Clinical Support Nurse

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate all incoming laboratory and clinical results.

• Identify urgent and emergent results for review by the ordering or on-call physician.

• Facilitate appropriate follow-up with physicians and other care team members, including PAs, CAs, and PCCs.

• Organize and file results within the EMR system.

• Supervise incoming pharmacy faxes for prescription refills or clarifications.

• Manage pharmacy fax communications with physicians and care team members.

• Arrange and handle incoming patient referrals.

• Record actions taken in patient charts.

• Inform patients about upcoming appointments.

• Provide assistance to PAs, CAs, and the referrals clerk as needed.

• Engage in staff and medical meetings.

• Offer clinical team support during weekends, holidays, evenings, and busy periods.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid licensure in a Canadian province or territory.

• Extensive clinical knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology.

• Strong clinical judgment capabilities.

• Understanding and integrity in managing protected health information in accordance with HIPAA/PHIPA/PIPEDA regulations.

• High level of professionalism, encompassing confidentiality, documentation, and organization.

• Awareness of various medical specialties.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize and meet deadlines.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt swiftly to changes.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Proficient in using Gmail, Slack, Zoom, Google Drive/Docs/Spreadsheets/Calendar, Adobe, and EMR-related software.

• Over 3 years of experience in clinical settings.
