Clinical Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Take charge of patients’ pharmacotherapy outcomes utilizing clinical expertise, skills, technology, and the management of medication packaging and distribution.

• Act as a primary contact for patients, families, pharmacists, clients, and healthcare providers regarding medication-related inquiries and pharmacotherapy requirements.

• Clarify care plan alternatives and provide information about medication usage, side effects, and contraindications.

• Record patient care decisions, actions, coding, and billing within proprietary software.

• Guarantee a precise, efficient, timely, and compliant process for medication distribution and fulfillment.

• Develop, implement, and uphold procedures for evaluating, compounding, packaging, labeling, quality assurance, security, and disposal of medications.

• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure adherence to medication reconciliation, physician order entry, inventory management, storage, security, labeling, packaging, policies, and regulations.

• Review, prepare, compound, and grant final approval for prescription orders and dispensed medications.

• Confirm accuracy in prescriptions, patient profiles, packaging, labeling, billing, and medication records.

• Deliver pharmaceutical care, evaluate medication requests and refills, and suggest recommendations to healthcare providers.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, HIPAA, internal policies, and pharmacy practice standards.

• Report and assist in resolving or preventing quality assurance issues, HIPAA violations, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, and other infractions.

• Be available for weekend, on-call, and holiday shifts as necessary.

• Travel to organizational events, team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and client engagements as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.

• Valid pharmacy license in the state of residence.

• Must secure a New Jersey state license within six months of employment.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging.

• Some exposure to geriatrics and/or chronic care management is preferred.

• Experience or a strong interest in clinical pharmacogenomics is advantageous.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficient technical and computer skills.

• Capability to navigate proprietary and other pharmacy software.

• Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management abilities.

• Detail-oriented and organized; capable of working under pressure, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills, clinical judgment, and decision-making capabilities.

• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.

• Availability outside of normal business hours on an ad-hoc basis.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
