This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver high-quality instruction for each assigned course within the sanctioned academic program curriculum.
• Aid in the creation, execution, and ongoing assessment of the curriculum, including course sequencing and student learning outcomes.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from institutional representatives, students, professional organizations, public agencies, and others as necessary.
• Uphold appropriate standards of linguistic expression in both written and verbal communication.
• Complete and submit academic program requirements and documentation, such as clinical evaluations and competency records, by set deadlines.
• Fulfill all faculty obligations on a weekly basis.
• Effectively manage classroom activities.
• Maintain reasonable accessibility for students seeking questions and assistance.
• Stay updated on educational and professional literature to identify best practices related to the courses taught.
• Support curricular and policy modifications as requested by the Dean/Department Chair.
• Assist in the selection of new textbooks when appropriate.
• Engage in required professional development activities, with a minimum of one per year for regular adjunct faculty.
• Participate in relevant institution, school, or department committees.
• Comply with institutional and School/Department policies.
• Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean/Department Chair.
• Report directly to the Program Director of Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
• Terminal degree (PhD or EdD) in Counselor Education or Counseling from a recognized accredited institution is required.
• Successful completion of at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in the field of counseling.
• Proven understanding of major counseling theories and their application to case conceptualization, treatment planning, and evidence-based clinical practice.
• Clinical experience applying one or more theoretical orientations in direct client interaction.
• Ability to demonstrate case conceptualization to graduate students.
• Familiarity with the ACA Code of Ethics, CACREP standards, and state licensing requirements for professional counselors.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Dedication to promoting student learning and success in a virtual setting.
• Previous successful experience in online teaching is preferred.
• Active professional counseling license (LPC, LPCC, LMHC, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Preference will be given to graduates from CACREP-accredited doctoral programs.
• Fully remote / work from home.
• Opportunities for professional development activities (minimum of one per year) for adjunct faculty teaching regularly.
