This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate the informational and knowledge-based needs of clinicians and Veterans, translating them into requirements for VistA/CPRS and the Federal EHR.
• Define, assess, and enhance clinical processes and workflows, covering orders, referrals, medication management, and documentation.
• Create, implement, and optimize clinical decision support tools, which include alerts, order sets and PowerPlans, clinical reminders, documentation templates, and rules.
• Facilitate the standardization of clinical content across VA medical centers via national governance and approval processes.
• Engage in the customization, implementation, management, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of clinical information and order-entry systems.
• Investigate field clinical issues through tiered issue management and suggest content or configuration enhancements.
• Assist with Federal EHR site go-lives and VistA/CPRS sustainment, which encompasses testing, validation, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Contribute to the analysis of health IT patient safety concerns and safety monitors associated with clinical content.
• Ensure that clinical content is displayed correctly and operates as intended across VistA/CPRS, the Federal EHR, and community providers during data exchanges.
• Assess changes using usage data, issue trends, and clinician feedback, refining the build as necessary.
• Take part in SAFe Agile Release Train activities, including PI Planning, backlog refinement, iteration ceremonies, and system demos; break down Epics into Features with acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with clinical informaticists, Tier 1 SMEs, and VA Business Owners.
• A Master's degree is required.
• At least 5 years of professional experience is necessary.
• Practical experience with EHRs or other clinical information systems, such as VistA/CPRS, Oracle Health (Cerner), or Epic, in an analyst, informaticist, or build role.
• Proven experience in assessing clinical information needs and evaluating or redesigning clinical workflows.
• Experience in developing, implementing, or refining clinical decision support systems.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a VA background investigation at the assigned level for the position.
• Must live and work in the United States with valid U.S. work authorization.
