Clinical Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee new employee orientation, managing schedules, base assignments, and the development of area-specific protocols.

• Provide guidance to orientees and preceptors while acting as a role model.

• Collaborate with RCEM and RCD on the clinical preceptorship of new hires.

• Maintain shared educational resources for flight crews throughout the region.

• Instruct and support in simulation labs, invasive labs, and advanced learning technology initiatives.

• Lead the creation of content and continuing education programs to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulations, and credentialing.

• Aid management in decisions impacting air medical practices and design educational programming for new and evolving care protocols.

• Assist in the development of policies and procedures to uphold clinical quality.

• Create simulation and learning technology scenarios to enhance clinical competency.

• Assess clinical performance utilizing evidence-based evaluation frameworks and statistical methods.

• Identify educational needs across the region and within acquired programs.

• Lead annual competency training, protocol evaluations, and initial training for new medical equipment and procedures.

• Support the development and revision of medical standards and guidelines.

• Ensure accreditation maintenance and facilitate successful reaccreditation processes.

• Develop region-specific guidance for the Training Blueprint.

• Engage in committees and workgroups to drive improvements in patient care.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN); with five or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 4 years of flight experience is required.

• At least 2 years of experience as an educator or instructor.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of collaboration across all organizational levels.

• Capacity to work effectively as a team player while maintaining a professional demeanor.

• Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.

• Experience with high-fidelity simulation is preferred.

• Clinical expertise in one or more specialty areas (e.g., ventilation, airway management, mechanical circulatory devices, resuscitation, high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics, or neonatal management).

• Capability to participate in and take on rotating on-call responsibilities for specialty equipment and high-risk patient populations.

• Proficient in navigating and communicating within a complex environment.

• Ability to promote achievement across various educational and developmental goals and objectives.

• Skilled in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Proficient in Smartsheet or other software as a service (SaaS).

• Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic specialty certification (CAMTS compliant) is required.

• CFRN or FP-C certification is mandatory.

• At least 1 current instructor card (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, ITLS, TNCC, TNATC).

• Must obtain instructor status for all AHA-required courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS) within 3 months of hire.
