This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +32 more states.
• Identify, map, measure, analyze, and enhance clinical and business processes along with information requirements for designated Epic applications.
• Conduct current and future workflow assessments and map essential business processes utilizing business process reengineering methods, industry standards, and best practices.
• Create business requirements documentation incorporating case diagrams, data flow diagrams, data models, and object models.
• Assess proposed solutions against clinical and business requirements.
• Convert user requirements into functional and technical design specifications and review these with users.
• Prioritize requirements based on business necessities and discuss the technological implications.
• Configure the assigned systems to fulfill business requirements.
• Develop testing plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Execute unit, integration, system, and end-user acceptance testing; monitor problem reports and document results.
• Provide client and support training by creating training materials and instructing trainers and end users.
• Oversee system functionality and clinical and business processes, implementing changes as required.
• Clarify assigned applications and related systems for users, assisting them with application functionality and process flow.
• Create and maintain product documentation, workflows, requirements, specifications, installation instructions, test procedures, user manuals, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Complete change and quality control documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
• Communicate project status and updates to clinic users, including potential delays or downtime.
• Handle multiple user requests and prioritize effectively.
• Schedule and oversee application version upgrades.
• Act as a resource for assigned applications and assist with support and troubleshooting.
• Respond to user inquiries as necessary.
• Must hold Clindoc and/or Grand Central certification.
• Must be open to obtaining certification in Epic Case Management.
• Must achieve Epic certification within 6 months and meet annual educational requirements for necessary Epic certifications.
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Computer Science or a related field.
• Typically requires 3 years in an IT or clinical setting.
• Experience in business process mapping and analysis.
• Experience in defining business and user requirements.
• Experience with acceptance testing and documentation processes.
• Proficient in using applications, operating systems, and databases, including basic hardware, platform, connectivity, and interface design.
• Experience with Epic and other healthcare applications.
• Project management experience and proficiency with project management software.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and complete assignments on schedule.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and issue-resolution capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate closely with healthcare application users, vendors, and technical professionals.
• Ability to translate user requirements into system specifications.
• Familiarity with change management practices and procedures.
• Understanding of technical components and their relationship to applications.
• Willingness to travel for work-related purposes.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment for the job.
• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
