This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead initiatives for strategic business growth and partnership opportunities with prominent U.S. cancer centers, clinics, oncology practices, Key Opinion Leaders, and Academic Medical Centers within the designated territory.
• Develop comprehensive strategic plans aimed at acquiring and retaining both new and existing clients.
• Optimize client-billing contracting opportunities.
• Establish laboratory services agreements with billing account institutions.
• Work collaboratively with sales teams and cross-functional departments to achieve company objectives.
• Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities between prospective oncology clients and Tempus.
• Advocate for and facilitate the adoption of web-based molecular information tools.
• Evaluate the competitive landscape and assigned accounts to identify trends and relay customer feedback to leadership.
• Track sales performance to ensure that objectives are successfully achieved.
• Create and execute a detailed territory business plan, encompassing budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting.
• Represent the Tempus company culture to both external and internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in life science, biology, business, or marketing.
• MBA is preferred.
• 2-3 years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic environment, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding expectations.
• 3-5 years of experience engaging with major cancer centers and clinics, oncology GPOs, large health systems, IHDNs, and substantial oncology practices.
• Demonstrated capability for measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company.
• Ability to offer an integrated MolDx/SaaS solution utilizing Tempus’s sequencing technology.
• Strong consultative selling and objection-handling skills.
• Experience selling to executive-level clients.
• Knowledge of the payer and reimbursement landscape in oncology and diagnostics.
• In-depth understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology and the competitive environment.
• Familiarity with oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted agents.
• Exceptional negotiation and customer service abilities.
• Strategic skills in sales account planning.
• Strong listening, problem-solving, communication, and presentation capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective use of Salesforce.com.
• Advanced presentation skills coupled with strong business acumen.
• Solid administrative skills and the ability to manage complex environments.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel frequently, exceeding 50% throughout the territory.
