Climbing Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Execute installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support tasks across fixed and mobile networks as well as business solutions.

• Safely operate on VodafoneThree network infrastructure, which may involve climbing, rooftop tasks, and other physical responsibilities.

• Install, maintain, and repair network equipment and services in accordance with VodafoneThree's quality, performance, and service standards.

• Comply with VodafoneThree's HSE Absolute Rules, safe working procedures, and operational guidelines.

• Maintain professional and prompt communication with both internal and external clients.

• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and improved customer outcomes.

• Adapt to flexible working hours, travel requirements, 24/7 callout schedules, or shift patterns as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Formal qualification in telecoms/electronics or equivalent experience acquired through previous positions.

• Capability to work collaboratively in a team or independently.

• Proficiency in working safely and efficiently during lone working situations.

• Valid/full UK/EU driving licence, Category B.

• Ability to obtain and maintain SC clearance status.

• Capability to achieve and uphold Advanced Climber / Tower Rescue Certification.

• Successful completion of regular health assessments in line with MATS guidance.

• Desirable: experience in service provision, fault diagnosis, and rectification of relevant telecom technologies.

• Desirable: familiarity with multi-vendor CPE, including Cisco, Juniper, and ADVA.

• Desirable: understanding of core transmission technologies such as DWDM and Ethernet.

• Desirable: knowledge of mobile networking technologies including 3G/4G/5G and related equipment.

• Desirable: experience with Microwave Radio.

• Desirable: expertise in switch and field DC power systems.

• Desirable: proficiency in fibre and copper cabling and termination.

• Desirable: HND or Degree in a relevant technical field or significant industry experience.

• Desirable: IP & Data certifications like Cisco CCNA / CCNP.

• Desirable: skills in wireless network design and deployment.

• Desirable: knowledge of LAN/WIFI and peripheral equipment.

• Desirable: familiarity with unified communications solutions.

• Desirable: Advanced Climber / Tower Rescue Certification.
