This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Provide operational leadership for key priorities in the Climate and Soil Health Program.
• Oversee outreach, communications, stakeholder engagement, and the dissemination of resources.
• Coordinate cross-functional implementation activities and outcomes of funded projects.
• Lead program outreach and the tracking of metrics.
• Manage the rollout and upkeep of the virtual network platform and microsites.
• Supervise communications, stakeholder engagement, and operational priorities across the portfolio.
• Coordinate educational resources, events, partner engagement, financial management, and reporting for funders and impact.
• Manage partners, stakeholders, and AFT staff to meet funded goals and deliverables.
• Lead designated workstreams and project deliverables.
• Collect, organize, track, document, and report on project outcomes, metrics, partner contributions, and deliverables.
• Organize on-farm demonstration trials, implementation activities, training sessions, networks, and resource creation.
• Develop, review, publish, and disseminate science-based resources, including website content, curricula, presentations, reports, white papers, and decision-support tools.
• Represent AFT at conferences, trainings, meetings, and cross-organizational events.
• Develop and manage an external advisory committee.
• Support the development of external partnerships with agricultural and conservation professionals as well as funders.
• Identify challenges to program goals and create collaborative solutions.
• Assist with workplans, budgets, timelines, invoicing, contracts, partner payments, and compliance with funders.
• Support fundraising efforts through partner engagement, proposal development, resource compilation, metrics, and success stories.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Policy, or a related Conservation field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in interdisciplinary programming.
• At least 3 years of experience in program or project management, specifically in soil health or agricultural fields.
• Proven success in coordinating complex projects or workstreams with multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and communication channels.
• Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing outreach, communications, educational programming, producer engagement, or similar implementation-focused activities.
• Familiarity with budget management, state and federal grant management processes, contracting procedures, compliance, and accountability systems.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills that are timely, effective, and responsive.
• Capability to motivate internal and external team members in a highly matrixed and/or remote setting.
• Self-motivated, organized, and systematic problem-solver with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in agriculture, grazing, soil health, regenerative practices, climate resilience, renewable energy, or carbon sequestration, or a desire to learn.
• Experience in managing outreach, communications, educational programming, producer engagement, stakeholder networks, or partner relationships.
• Commitment to enhancing access to resources and support for underserved farming communities.
